Day 10 - Sunday, October 25, 2015 - Arrive Chattanooga!

We are only about 86 miles from home!  We left Goose Pond Colony about 09:30 and headed to Chattanooga!  We arrived Chattanooga about 16:00.

Day 9 - Saturday, October 24, 2015

Today, we will leave Grand Harbor and head to Goose Pond Colony Marina in Scottsboro, AL.  We will be traveling about 160 miles.

Approaching Wilson Lock in Florence, AL at 11:00.  It has a 93 foot lift.  This is the 6th highest drop lock in the U.S.











Fisherman at the Wilson Lock.  Notice the walkway in this picture.  It will eventually be 9-10 feet under water once the lock fills.  See below.

Arriving Joe Wheeler Lock at 12:20 in Rogersville, AL.  It has a 48 foot lift.  It also has an unusual way of emptying the lock.  In the following pictures, you will see the water being released and the fisherman scrambling to fish while the fish are being stirred up by the water activity.

We reached the Decatur Railroad Lift Bridge at 14:05.  This is the first bridge that we encountered that we had to call for a lift in order to pass under.

Arrived Guntersville Lock (MM349.0) in Grant, AL at 16:00.  It has a lift of 40 feet.
