Play Station 2's Maiden Voyage

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Today, Jim & I started a new book in our lives... Makin' Memories While on Board Play Station 2.  We purchased her in Michigan City, IN.  With the help of Captain Bart Schubert from Chattanooga, TN, we will bring her home to Chattanooga over the next 10 to 12 days if all goes well.

We departed B&E Marine today at 15:00 and headed west across Lake Michigan to Burnham Harbor (next to Soldier Field) in Chicago, IL where we will spend the night.  We called ahead to reserve a transient slip at Burnham Harbor.  The lady was very helpful and gave me all the info we needed and closed by saying our stay for night was free!  Wow, a great way to get started!

We found the waves to be manageable today at 2-3 feet in Lake Michigan.  Had we waited another day to depart, we could have been severely delayed due to high seas warnings of up to 10 foot waves.

We spent the first night on board in Chicago after crossing the lake. After docking in the harbor, we wandered out to a sports grille where we found some good burgers and ballgames to watch.

We returned to the dock, buttoned up the hatches and hunkered down for a good night's rest.

Here she is in Michigan City, IN at B&E Marine.

Our approach into Chicago, heading for Butnham Harbor.

Burnham Harbor, Chicago, IL.
