Day 8 - Friday, October 23, 2015

Today, we would be heading to Grand Harbor Marina which is located near the Tenn-Tom Waterway in Counce, TN.  Our destination was 117 miles from Pebble Isle.  We are now in the stomping grounds of Captain Bart.  He knows this area well and insisted we start the day with one of the marina's restaurant famous hot homemade cinnamon buns and coffee.  Wow, they were awesome! We also enjoyed chatting with other dock mates and other locals having breakfast.

We departed Pebble Isle about 09:00.  We passed under several bridges and made our way to the Pickwick Lock at Pickwick Dam, TN at 14:55.  The lock has a 55 foot lift and it took us about 30 minutes to get in and out of the lock.

We arrived Grand Harbor at 15:45 and decided to refuel before they closed for the day.  We shopped the Ship's Store and put in a reservation to use the courtesy van.  Later in the evening, we were notified that the van was available so we headed to a local restaurant, Freddy T's to eat and stopped at a small grocery store to get a few things.
